Reflection

Professional Practice, Year 2
Reflection Reflection: During the process of creation of the game I developed lots of skills to help my team. Some of the skills I learnt to help the team was texturing which allowed me to make better and higher quality models to add more realism to the game. During the progress I also learned new skills in 3d modelling as I do not make many 3d models, but I was happy with all the models that I created.  One of the main things that I learned was how to create level sequences and cutscenes inside of unreal and how to combine multiple techniques together to create a cutscene which allows to convey a story and looks visual pleasing to look at. Another thing I have learned is how to work in a…

Design Process

Professional Practice, Year 2
Design Process creating the cutscene: to create the cutscene i did some initial research on existing cutscenes and how they are used inside of a game and what is their purpose. from my research i discovered that the opening animation needs to show off the surrounding and give context to the players to why they are there.i wanted to start out with creating a basic idea of what i wanted the cutscene to look like. using basic blocks i made a blockout in unreal engine so my fellow team mates had an understanding of what i was trying to complete. i then later used this blockout as inspiration for the cutscene i would create later on. https://youtu.be/XIPpTwaqYt0after acquiring models from the other team members i then built a scene with all the…

Leadership & Teamwork

Professional Practice, Year 2
Leadership and Teamwork leadership and teamwork: as a whole i believe the team dynamic worked fine and most of the team communicated well with the rest of the team. the team leader held the group together and made sure that there was always something for other people to do in the group. all the 3d models worked well together and they developed a system that worked for them and allowed them to have a streamline system where they could produce a few good models a day fully textured.  there was good communication between the team and most of the team spoke daily on what needed to be done in different channels in discord. even when some members didn't communicate and didn't do the work that they was supposed to do another team…

Organisational Skills, Schedules & Planning

Professional Practice, Year 2
Organisation Skills organisation skills: at the beginning of the process of making the game a few team members put together a mind map which helped to illustrate the plan that we all needed to follow for the project to be completed. to keep all the work organised multiple google document folders and discord channels were made to allow the group to communicate as best they could. we also used git hub which allowed all the team members to have access to the unreal project and update it so all the members could do their own individual parts of the project.  As a team our first goal was to create a priority list so we could understand what was needed for the final product and what could be added further down the line if…
