I’ve always been passionate about video games and the limitless opportunities they present. I have always been told by both my teachers and my family that I will never amount to anything in life. I used that pain as inspiration for the projects I create now.
Some of the projects I worked on as an undergraduate are displayed in my portfolio, including games I designed, programmed, and playtested. I’m eager to share with you the various abilities and interests that each project highlights.
Even though I’ve only used Unreal Engine for a short time, I’ve already considerably modified my talents for both my academic work and my own personal work.
I can make appealing 3D models with Blender, which is essential for game development and animation.
I soon adjusted to the programme I used the least to master the software that would allow me to edit videos.
During my time at university, I have been fortunate enough to learn from some of the most talented and experienced game designers in the industry. I worked on a veriaty of projects such as animations and video games. Through coursework and hands-on experience, I have gained a deep understanding of the game design process, including concept development, prototyping, user testing, and iteration.
We made the decision to collaborate as a team on our major project in order to highlight our unique talents. I worked on numerous various game features, including the main menu, cutscenes, and character design and modelling, as part of my contribution to the project.
We made the decision to create a 1920s New Orleans murder mystery. where you take on the role of a detective and try to solve mysteries.
Using new software like Zbrush and Substance Painter, character design / animation gave me the opportunity to demonstrate my ability to create a distinctive character.
I conceptualised and designed a futuristic police officer who has a genetic ability to excel at his position. I used Blender to animate this character, giving it a skellington and rigged it. This gave me the opportunity to improve my abilities to build something from scratch using other software that I don’t have much experience with.
My own simulated immersive experience prototype was required for the immersive design assignment, and it was inspired by the Alice in Wonderland tale.
I created a 360-degree video that was influenced by the idea of Alice in Wonderland and used the setting to convey a story. When you, the viewer, are dropped into Wonderland, the Mad Hatter welcomes you to Wonderland.
In addition to my coursework, I have also been involved in various extracurricular activities that have allowed me to further hone my skills. This includes not only includes products i have made my self but also collabrative products which i have done with a small team of friends and learning the team process that may help us in the future.
I’ve been designing and creating my own games in my spare time for the past year. The game was originally intended to be my major project before deciding to collaborate with a team,
However, I decided to keep working on the idea because I liked the concept and felt that it would be another way to improve my proficiency with programmes like Blender and Unreal and would help showcase my skills that I can bring to a team.
Black Ops 3 is an old game I used to play, and I’ve recently become interested in it again. Through it, I’ve learned that level designers and creators create their own content like mods and maps.
I wanted to make some maps for me and my friends to play since it would be fun for all of us and will force me to think more deeply about level design. Additionally, I’ll be able to make this available to the public and invite players from around the globe to play.
Since the future is uncertain, my friends and I decided to create a buisness together. This is because we enjoy creating games together, and it would be interesting to see if we could start our own buisness doing what we want to do. We have started developing the game ideas and concepts we want to create, and once we graduate from university, we’ll start putting up the business and see where that may lead us.
